What brings you in

Postpartum Overwhelm

Motherhood was supposed to feel different than this. No one prepared you for how hard it actually is.

The postpartum period can bring joy and, alongside it, anxiety that won't quiet, sadness you can't explain, rage that frightens you, or a disorienting sense that you've lost yourself. None of this means you're failing. It means you're human, under-slept, and carrying something enormous.

Perinatal mental health is a specialty of mine. You don't have to perform gratitude here or minimize how hard it is. This is a place to tell the truth about motherhood and feel like yourself again.

You might notice

  • Intrusive worries or "what if" thoughts about the baby
  • Sadness, tearfulness, or feeling emotionally flat
  • Postpartum rage or irritability that surprises you
  • Feeling like you've lost your identity
  • Guilt for not enjoying this the way you expected to
  • Resentment in your relationship since the baby arrived

How therapy helps

We make room for the full reality of this season, including the love and the loss, the bonding and the resentment, while building practical support for sleep, nervous-system regulation, and asking for help. You can be a good mother and still need care yourself.
